Cashier Announcement

The Australian Embassy and Permanent Mission to the UN in Vienna, with non-resident accreditation for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary, is looking for a highly motivated and well organized individual to replace our current Finance Officer/Cashier going on Maternity Leave.

Cashier/Finance Officer - Maternity Leave Replacement

This position is responsible for day to day financial services including processing of payables/receivables, maintaining debtors/advances register, cashier duties including bank reconciliation for the New Zealand Embassy. There will be administrative duties attached such as ordering stationery. For further details please see the attached Position Description.

The successful applicant should have experience in accrual accounting, tax reporting, experience with electronic accounting systems (preferably SAP) and electronic banking, basic knowledge of the Austrian Labour and Social Security Law.

The applicant must be fluent in both English and German.

The gross monthly salary will be EUR 2,806 (full-time; paid 14 times per year).

Applicants must hold appropriate insurance and have permission to work in Austria.

This role is a maternity leave replacement for 12 month (with an option of extension) with a 1 month probationary period, commencing as soon as possible.

This position can be filled on a full-time or part-time basis.

1. Curriculum vitae (resume) in English, containing:
- personal information, including address and telephone contact details;
- summary of employment history; and
- contact details (telephone and email) for at least two referees who can comment on work performance.

2. Statement supporting the Selection Criteria:
- Experience in accrual accounting;
- Detailed knowledge of computer accounting software (SAP) and Advance Excel;
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word for Windows;
- Knowledge of Austrian Labour Law and Wiener Gebietskrankenkasse (Social Security Schemes) requirements;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and German;
- Knowledge of Finance, HR and travel policies.
